As I have said before some places you like other you don’t. We were going to do 2 nights here, but we wandered around the town the first afternoon/evening and decided to move the next day. It’s a working city, the 5th largest in Spain. There is a huge rectangular “square” with lots of old important buildings around it just off the river front which we found after some pounding of the shoe leather. This square improved my image of the city from a place with small grey shops to a place that has some minuscule character. There is also roman bridge and a roman theatre to help the cities case. We also took in a modern art exhibition, alas I do not understand modern art, I was surprised that is was a female artist as I had thought it was very degrading to females. I do so struggle with a Sindy dolls leg, encased in a hair grip being a piece of art and one that celebrates women.

The parking was a free carpark with services near the university and directly opposite the tram stop. For a city centre stop it was quite a good one. Full those by 5 with all 40 spots taken.
