Warsash (Portsmouth)

· England

And we are off again, but not for long, only 5 weeks this time and to get some warmer weather we are heading to the Spanish med. So first stop Portsmouth. It was either a night at Portsmouth or a very early start from Earith. I can never decide if we have a lot of issues with Bertie, or if you have something that is your home and spend lots of hours in it things are bound to go wrong. Anyway we pulled into service area and we used our loo (why go to grotty service loos when we can use your own) and the flush flap stuck open. For those that don’t know on a chemical loo you have to open the flap to the waste tank to allow the new contents down to the holding tank. After some playing we drove on leaving the flap open. Once at site it’s hand in the loo time to release the broken mechanism, not a good start. Then as I turned on the water to scrub my hands the tap broke as well! Both are now fixed, I’m not afraid of a bit of diy. Warsash was cold and wet. The d-day landings launched from there so a small amount of history, but for us it was basically a place to rest our head. Now to add to the little list of issues; some of you will have read my LPG post. Some of you will have heard me going on about how something always goes wrong when we have to fill up. We decided to fill up, we could not get the connector to connect so we had to leave the garage and the UK with almost empty tanks.
