Vaduz, Liechtenstein
· Switzerland
Liechtenstein, it should have a country heading in it’s own right but given we didn’t take Bertie there and in fact only spent about 4 hours there I have reduced the admin overhead.
In the alps the bit of Liechtenstein we saw was beautiful, but disappointed with Vaduz the capital. It had a main pedestrian street that was tourist shops and restaurants. It was mainly modern square buildings . the Prince’s palace has a great location hovering on the cliff over the town but that was about the best on offer unless you like stamps in which case you can do the free stamp museum. This featured a letter from and franked from the ISS that I thought was interesting. The cycle was enjoyable.
Why didn’t we take Bertie? According to The AA website if you are taking a vehicle into Liechtenstein you have to have an International Certificate for Motor Vehicles (ICMV) and we don’t. I’m sure we could have got one but decided there is a lot of Germany to do next.
