The big town on the side of Galilee. I had mixed feelings on this place, it’s another large shabby town, but it had a nice lake front, with lots of night life, stalls and food. We found a decent pizza place where we could buy a pizza to share at a good price, and sit and watch all the boats.
We went to a national park at Mount Arbel and had a walk. We chickened and did the short walk, it was 37 degrees and the longer walk involved climbing a cliff holding onto ropes. I feel I missed a good walk, but we had a pleasant day moving from shade to shade, drinking and taking in the magnificent views over the lake, Golan Heights and other surrounding hills.
We did some archaeological digs of a mosque and hot springs. You can sit in the hot springs which start at 60 and in the lowest pool it’s 35 degrees. Wandering back to town we passed the modern hot spring so we diverted into said springs, and at the suggestion of the cashier, had a drink in the cafe first as the cost dropped 30nis in only 20 minutes time. This was a nice area, two hot spring pools and a normal swimming pool with lots of grass and sun beds to stretch out on.
The room here was interesting, stunning views from the balcony, and the rooms was actually clean, but oh so run down, it would have looked nice in the 1970’s. The car park and the passage to the room was disgusting, rotting rubbish and food, even the balcony canopy had old noodles caught in it.
