I thought we had been on a really nice sites and then we moved to this. It is a campsite but only 13€, complete with swimming pool, restaurant, and views. Across the donkey field are hills and woods that mark the start of the Pyrenees. Birds sing all the time here. Scops owls, cicadas and lots of unidentified bird sing all night long and by day the cuckoo, hoopoe, woodpeckers, doves and sparrows take over. I was so excited on spotting my first hoopoe and here you just sit and watch them digging in the dirt. The hills are stunning, valley after valley of wood covered slopes. Hills to make your calves ache (or wear the bike battery out), all back-dropped by the snow covered mountains. We’ve decided to stay here a week.
