Seurre
· France
Seurre is a small French town, nothing special. The main shopping street had been dug up which made the town look very shabby but I’m sure it’s not really. The aire was on an old campsite with the toilet blocks all closed up. It was situated on the side of a river (well across the road). More a small campsite feel so I liked it. We paid the €11.50 as we wanted electricity, most vans parked just outside the aire on the riverside and avoided the cost. From here we cycled the 50K in 50 mph winds to Dijon, a nice town, I would like to have gone in the palace of the Dukes of Burgundy but alas it wasn’t open. The cycle back was mainly in the dark but a nice path along the canal/river side for 2 hours of the ride and the wind had dropped which made the cycle easier. The next day we started to cycle to Beaune but after an hour of cycling through hail and snow we gave up and returned to the van for a lazy afternoon.
