Rutland

We’re back on the road. Going away in Bertie again was something that had to be done,a bit like getting back on a horse. Rutland is only just over an hour’s drive, and it’s a nice part of the country but the main attraction was meeting up with friends not the location. It was great to meet up. Two friends and a dog stayed with us, the other couple have their own motorhome. Our van is the bigger van so in the evening we had 6 adults and 3 dogs in Bertie, a little cosy but very enjoyable. A few walks along Rutland water, lots of talking, way too much eating and great company made it a superb weekend.

The campsite, acceptable, very expensive, nice toilet block but a bit too far from places to be good and you feel like you’re just another unit in a row of units with no views but the neighbours. Not a site to rush back to in my opinion.
