We got the last spot at this small motorhome parking area (€8 +metered water, no electric), despite getting there at lunchtime. It was a lake side area, the last weekend in August, cracking weather and therefore awash with visitors The lake had a nice swimming platform so we made use of the lake for a swim. John thrashed me at crazy golf and we joined the Germans at a greasy kiosk for the sausage and chips. I keep saying I want to do longer walks to John so we set off around the lake for a walk that proved to be only 17 miles. The walk was mixed woodland and open lakeside, we saw a mouse struggling with a nut, trying in vain to carry the nut up the bank, only to tumble back down head over heels with the nut still in it’s mouth. It was the day for small mammals as a stoat did a little dance for us as well. The second day was a cycling day, past an ex-elite nazi training camp, a grim looking place. It was tempting to stay here for longer as it was a lovely spot.
