Sea view campsite, what more could you want? Sun maybe. It’s another site on terraces down to the sea front, very steep to drive but level once you are on your spot. Alas the weather has returned to early spring, with wind, rain, storms and chill (it is warmer than Cambridgeshire), but it cleared up long enough for us to do a decent walk. Orebic is a small port town, it’s set up for the tourist, with bars and restaurants lining the seafront, but in April it deserted and has that depressed look that seaside resorts do when closed, not helped by the massive amount of rubbish washed up on the beach. Our walk took us out of the town and steeply up into the hills, and for once we left the rubbish behind to walk tracks amongst the ancient (and protected) cedar trees. Towering above was the steep cliff of folded rock strata creating visual drama above while the coves and islands gave the drama below, the singing nightingales provided the musical accompaniment. I chose the walk well, but I made it too short. It only took a few hours.
