Mesnil-Saint-Père by Lac d Orient

This is a large lake in a national park, our sort of place! Actually the aire was just down from the lake and a large carpark but pleasant enough at €0 although no electricity. We spent the afternoon we arrived wandering along the lake edge, this would be a hive of activity in summer with cafes and watersports but on a cold windy spring day it was deserted. We had been going to cycle around the lake and also into Troyes, but the forecast for tomorrow was 50mph winds so we decided to continue the route south and find the promised warmer weather that the south should bring.
