Meggan

· Switzerland

Meggan is a small place on the side of Lake Lucerne. We stopped here to break the journey and it gave us a change to see Lucerne which was a short cycle ride away (10K each way). Lucerne has two old wooden bridges across the river which are a main feature of the town and being on the edge of a lake it has a pleasant location. It is heaving with tourists, many more than we have seen in the rest of Switzerland put together, but then this is the first town we have done in Switzerland.

We stayed in a car park (€0), Bertie squeezed into a car parking space, it can fit a car spot in terms of width, length we don’t stand a chance but we hung over onto the grass behind. We only stayed the one night.
