Mandelieu-La Napoule (incl Cannes)

Stayed on a campsite as the aires in this area are getting expensive and with the ACSI card the campsite was better value for money. We may blow the budget if we have to keep doing campsites. The site is fine €20 + taxes, just a small town campsite, overlooked by flats, BUT close (well 20 mins walk and 15 mins bus ride ) to the train station. We walked to Cannes and looked at the big yachts and Rolex watches. We didn’t go on the private beaches. A perfectly nice place. We caught the train to Monaco (pin of it’s own), cycled through thunder and lightning over the hills to Lac de Saint-Cassien which would have been nice if it hadn’t been for the weather. We decided to not do Nice which had been the first plan. And spend a lazy day walking around the coast. We heard our first Hoopoe and Scops owl of the trip but no sightings.
