This is a site on the side of the Rhine, just down from Koblenz. It’s a motorhome car park, with toilets and showers and cost 14 euros. Electricity is a metered extra and showers are extra. Being on the side of the river , it was a nice flat path for our run, very pretty running along side of the wide fast flowing Rhine, which cuts it way through the steep sided tree lined valley. Lots of commercial boats use the Rhine. On the other side of the river looking down over the site is Stolzenfels castle. We cycled around to it and paid our 5 euros. Nice little castle, loved the slippers we had to wear over our shoes to look around it. We then cycled into Koblenz, we weren’t going to bother having been there before, but we had time to spare. Koblenz was busy and the “island” where the Mosel and Rhine meet was shut off for a wine festival. We could of course have paid our money but we’d paid for one thing already today. We also looked at the price of the cable car up to the castle, but like last time we were here we decided not to spend the money.
