Iseo (Lake Iseo)

Well that is the budget for the month totally blown. After trying 3 ACSI discounted sites all of which were full and doing numerous 3 point turns to leave those sites, we paid full price, €40, for a fully serviced pitch. That means we didn’t have to walk to get the water or empty the grey water. A job we do every 2 to 3 days that takes about 20 mins was reduced to about 5 mins. The site was no better than any other for being quite so expensive , although it did have a nice 25m swimming pool (as did the last site). The site is on the edge of Lake Iseo but we didn’t have a lakeside pitch.

Lake Iseo is very pretty, with tree covered hills down to the waters edge, high peaks in the distance, and distinct towns around it rather than urban sprawl. We cycled the length of the lake one day on a mixture of busy roads and lovely quiet cycle paths. We passed another ACSI site and booked ourselves into that as we like this lake and wanted to spend longer here (see next pin post).

My lasting memory of this site, the view of stunning hills framed by my arm as I crawled up and down the swimming pool, the sun beating down on my back.
