We came here twice but I’ve only done one post, it was the stopping point for heading north. The first time we had an afternoon and evening to wander around, but we’d been up since 3am. On the return trip we had enough time to eat a meal and get sleep before heading back to the airport. This city reminded me a lot of Stockholm where I worked for 11 months in years gone by, it might have been the snow. The cathedral is plain on the inside but is situated above a massive and impressive square. The waterfront was pretty in the dark, the people walking through the snow in swimwear between the pools and saunas crazy. The buildings are mainly modern with lots of space on the streets and quite a few little parks which on the second stop had become ice rinks and I took my final fall of the trip. I’m looking forward to my bottom recovering. I always find it amazing how life continues in these cities. Trams continue to run, cars drive around as normal, trains on time and planes land and take off with no issue, England has a covering of snow and it grinds to a halt.
