Grottammare

We stayed in a sosta that is half way between camp site and carpark, €15. It was directly next to the railway line with freight trains passing regularly. Grottammare is in a big urban beach area. It has a nice walk along the sea front and sometimes you can see the sea in-between the private beaches and restaurants. We had a pleasant cycle ride both ways along the front, I have never seen so many bikes on a cycle path. In the next resort San Benedetto del Tronto there was an airshow for 2 days. Actually the Saturday didn’t really have anything other than a quick displace by the frecce tricolori. Sunday was a 2 hour flying display which was a very slow but provided an entertaining afternoon free of charge. The show ended with the frecca tricolori who did a really good display and got lots of claps with every release of tricoloured smoke. The shows stalls provided the end of day entertainment, generally a pleasant time was had by both of us. A few days later we had to sort through the 1000 photo’s of aeroplanes!
