This village is in the Ardennes, which until now had only meant pate to me. The village has nothing to write about. We did a nice walk around the fields which was interrupted as John had to sit down and watch the cricket scores coming in (well done Stokes). The parking spot was fine (€0), next to the football ground and a horses field, very quite but somehow not that welcoming so we only stayed 2 nights. The second night we were the only people on the site which can take 30 vans.
We went for a cycle in the national park which means we spent most of the day in France. The forest is gorgeous, we should come back and stop nearer to it, in the French bits. We included the Millenaire tower which consisted of two tripods fitted together (one upright, one upside down) with three different viewing platforms (at 15 m, 30 m and 45 m). Each viewing platform has a metal grid floor, John didn’t go up, it is high! On the top level I had a good laugh with a young lady as she had left her brother and boyfriend at the 1st platform, I my husband at the bottom. I must say her brother had looked petrified when he stepped out onto the first platform. If you are in the area do this tower, it is really impressive, stunning views over the forest.
Our lunch time in France consisted of updating most of our devices. Now I’m not paying for massive amounts of data we just have a French sim card, which gives us 25G a month when roaming but 100G when in France. So we had packed the Mifi (for want of a better description a portable router) and tablets etc sat on a bench and let all the updates happen while we eat lunch. We used 5G in that 1 hour. And we hadn’t taken the laptops they still need updating.
