Fontvieille
· France
We stopped a couple of nights at Fontvieille, a really lovely place located in a National Park. Parking was 6.80€ without electricity so a fair bit cheaper than Avignon. We felt the full brunt of the mistral winds whilst here with constant winds over 60 mph for two days. Sleep was disrupted with the van constantly rocking. Since it was too windy to go out on the bikes we went for a long walk (10Km each way) across the national park to a hilltop village called Baux de Provence which was an interesting little tourist trap. We also walked to the ruins of a Roman aqueduct and water driven flour mill which was once the biggest watermill in Europe.
