Delamere Forest

Another camping and caravan site and one that reminded me why I don’t normally use sites like this. Totally nondescript, just lines of units in a high hedged field. You might as well be in a car park. Granted you have green space between each unit, but the only view is of your neighbours. However the site is on the edge of the forest. To get into the forest you had to walk about 20 meters, and it’s a rather nice forest. I went to Go Ape high wires. Either this course is a lot easier than the Thetford course or I am a lot fitter, but lots of fun was had by me. John went to the supermarket while I leapt from tree to tree. The site is also about 3 minutes walk from the train station with a regular service to Chester.
Chester is a lovely old town, with city walls, some Roman ruins, two-tiered shops that look like medieval buildings although most are Victorian, and a nice riverfront. We had a very pleasant afternoon, while I reminisced about the time I worked in Chester. Well actually I could remember very little. Of course we did some long walks as we have to keep practicing for the Pennine way, but we never even got the bikes out, that must be a first. My heels are hurting when I walk, this is a concern for the 270 miles I intend to do in June. On the Matthew front Israel and Hamas continue to fling missiles at each other and one got to within 6K of where Matthew is living, so we remain somewhat concerned. We passed a pro Palestine march in Chester, I didn’t know whether to join in as they are the ones being treated rather shabbily or to be against them as there are the ones throwing missiles at my little boy. If only the world could live in peace, something we should all try to do in our day to day lives. Remember creed nor colour are not important.
