We spent a couple of nights in the university town of Coimbra. In the 12th and 13th centuries Coimbra was the capital of Portugal and has quite a lot going for it as a tourist attraction. The University has many fine buildings from the 16th century when King John III invested heavily in it. The motorhome area however leaves a lot to be desired. It’s just a car park shared with cars. Very basic services only were provided with only one tap for both cleaning toilet cassettes and fresh water. A plastic jug was provided for cleaning the toilets but I don’t think I’d trust everyone to use it! On the plus side it was free. We also had one of the best meals of the whole tour at the Sete Restaurant.
