Clumber Park

· England

We came here against advice. We were warned the site was not safe, and indeed the wardens did warn you that they had some bike thefts although not in the last 3 years.

We met friends, who stopped in our motorhome. We started with a nice little bike ride into clumber park but alas a blown inner tube brought the bike ride to an abrupt end. On changing the inner tube we realised the issue was with the tyre and the friend got a lift back to the campsite with a nice security chap who stopped to assist.

On the second day we took a walk around Sherwood forest and had a look at the major oak. It a brilliant wood, so many nice trees, I could become a tree hugger in that forest.

On the third day we parked in Clumber park, had a walk and a nice little picnic. I’ve been to Clumber park before but my memory didn’t do the park justice, there is a lot more to it than I rememberm just right for strolling and nattering.

The weather was stunning, the company was brilliant. The campsite is a lovely location and despite the cost I would go back again.
