Castets

· France

We left Javea, Spain at 8:30 which for us retired people is definitely the middle of the night. We drove, then drove some more and when we had done our full, with our bums aching, ears ringing( Bertie is not a quiet drive) we drove still further. The roads were quiet but then these are Spainsh motorways so that is nothing new. We crossed the border with no problems at all, we met no road closures, no border closures, in fact we didn’t meet much at all. Once we turn off the motorway that led to central Europe we even lost the line of motorhomes. Castets has a lovely french aire for motorhomes nestling under pine trees. we have no idea what the rest of Castets is like. We were now self isolating, scrubbing down after every toll payment. We were €120 euros lighter from buying a tank of diesel , and we lost count of the cost of the tolls. We went for a walk, we needed one but it was now dark so we didn’t see anything. Relieve we are out of Spain, away from the country that has gone into lockdown and now in France, where life is normal. Then we read the news – France to lockdown from midnight!
