Carnac
· France
We spent a day in Carnac, mainly looking at the alignments. These are a set of standing stones dating from about the same time as Stonehenge. As with Stonehenge nobody seems to know quite why they did this. And these things in Carnac go on for about 3 miles. We’d done our usual limited research (they’re on the map just round the corner from where we parked Bertie) and so set off on foot. If we’d known they covered such a wide area we’d have been better off with the bikes.
