This is a quick one week trip to France. We are using up a tunnel crossing that we didn’t use when John was ill. We can’t really go for longer as I don’t feel I can leave my mum at the moment and by staying north we are not that far from home. The parking place is is a typical motorhome aire on the edge of the suburbs. It’s not pretty, and a bit too far away from town, but an acceptable walk along the coast. You have to buy electricity by the four hours here, so a lot of the time we were running on gas, just using electricity in the evening to keep the van warm, it’s cold outside. It rained constantly while we were here so we caught the bus into town instead of cycling. The cathedral is nice, lots of domes a bit like St Pauls. We did the crypt as it was raining and that got us out of the rain, but I can’t say that the statues and stone work on display thrilled me. We had a meal in a restaurant just to get warm and out of the cold. I really didn’t want to spend the money nor break my diet. I’m doing a diet called Zoe and it’s hard to eat “zoe” healthily in a restaurant but the food was nice. We had been going to stay here 3 nights but it was time to find a better stop.
