Bologna

· Italy

We stopped in a car park (€0) a little way out of the city, which had basic facilities. The suburb was a modern, clean and spacious place, lots of green parks between the blocks of flats. Of course the car park was next to the cemetery like a lot of these motorhome car parks are. We cycled into the city after we failed to buy the bus tickets. You buy bus tickets from the tobacconist which worked well unless the tobacconist closes for a 4 hour lunch break. The cycle ride was on cycle paths so although in a city it was pleasant enough. The city has a splendid looking library, although we only did the entrance as it costs to go in. Bologna has lots of nice old buildings to wander around although we did only spend about 3 hours in the city.

Unfortunately we had a kid think it was fun to bang on the van at night, he didn’t seem to realise that we watched him run up to the van, knock and run away again. Kids will be kids.
