Blackpool

· England

October saw us back in Bertie, only a week after we got home, travelling to Blackpool for a meet up with friends and a look at the lights. The site was a typical UK mid sized site with serviced hard standing pitches, rather dearer than we normally pay but this is the UK and a good 30 min drive from Blackpool

Blackpool is Blackpool, a lively seaside resort, notorious for drunken behaviour, it has most things people could want for a family holiday except beauty and quiet. Personally I love it for a day out, but then I went at least once a year for my first 20 years of life.

Taking Bertie into Blackpool, finding parking and driving through the lights was all easy enough with no hitches until we tried to return to the campsite when we met the standard UK overnight road closures and what should have been a 30 min journey was nearer 2 hours!

For those of you who aren’t English, Blackpool puts up street lights mainly across the road, with some tableaux. This display is put on at then end of the season. The display is worth seeing at least once.
