This was a weekend staying in a friends static caravan. Very kind it was of them to let us stay there. We had a relaxing time. We did try to walk over the hill to Barmouth town but decided at this point in John’s recovery we were being optimistic and turned it into a much shorter walk (6 miles) . We went to Portmeirion as we have heard a lot about it. If you ask my opinion it is not worth the money. A selection of buildings that just try to sell you expensive food, drink and gifts with some pleasant parkland walks and coast walk. You can find nicer cafes and walks outside the village for no entrance fee. I guess the idea of the village and buildings were pretty enough for a wet wander but I’ll not be rushing back. The caravan is ideally suited for strolls along the beach and we enjoyed those. It’s a place we have been to a few times before, I really like the area and hopefully we will be going back again soon. We stopped at Iron Bridge on the way home so I have included a photo of that.
