Barcelona

· Spain

We stayed about as close to Barcelona as we could get camping. Actually about 30km away at Matarò in a fully featured campsite costing 19€ a night. It did include a free shuttle bus to the centre of Barcelona which can’t be bad. So we spent a couple of fairly long days seeing the sites of Barcelona. We had mixed feelings about Barcelona. There are plenty of interesting buildings but on the whole I think we’ve seen nicer places and the prices in some places, particularly the Ramblas are high. Sharp practices were evident as well. We went into a restaurant attracted by the prices (3 tapas + Paella for 8.50€). The tapas portions wouldn’t fit in an eggcup however. Also no drink menu was handed out and if Tracey hadn’t questioned this the beer would have been brought out in litre glasses at 11.50€ a go!!
