Arès
· France
For the second half of the week that the boys stayed we moved about an hour from Bordeaux to Arès, a small town on the Arcachon Basin.Again we stayed on a proper campsite which was largely uninhabited. Unfortunately it has continued to rain though for a couple of days it has stopped enough in the afternoon to get out a bit. One day we drove Bertie round to Cap-Ferret which features the second highest sand dune in Europe. On the Saturday we walked to the next town Andernos-les-Bains which had novelties like open shops and restaurants and lots of people around. France had seemed largely closed up to now.
