Our European Tour

Baguette vending machine

Week one silly observation
(By Tracey- February 19, 2018)

Here are a few things that I have noted.

English credit cards aren’t accepted in all places, stood at an automatic barrier trying to pay for an aire was when we discovered this. Very nice man( owner I think) put it on his card. Concerned now this may be a wider issue.

Don’t try and empty a sog chemical toilet with the sog lid still on this decreases the size on the hole the contents pass through resulting in them getting stuck.

French drivers are very polite to cyclists and pedestrian.

There are cycle paths all over Brittany, even where the roads have about one car an hour.

You get baguette vending machines.

I still need to be convinced that french cooking is much superior to ours and that’s despite paying a huge amount for a meal ( which was very nice).

Speed bumps everywhere, at junctions, on zebra crossings where cycle lanes cross a road.

Most of Brittany has a speckled rain streaked look to it, oh, no, wait, that is rain on my glasses.

Exit and entry to national roads are very short, in 4.5 tones vehicle you really notice this.

You use the same knife and fork for all courses ( just like Spain)

Dog poo everywhere.
