Does this count? We have ticked off our first campsite in our first country. Wyre Piddle near Evesham. Bertie seems to be all functional apart from we do not have a hose to fill up the water tank, so hand filling from a camping bottle is the order of the day. This is a nice little site by the river. We have the field to ourselves. The site is part of a boat club so we eat in the club last night. It’s about 6 degrees so not too bad outside. We completed a 19 mile bike ride today, the first test of the new electric bikes on something that can be called hills.
So a little about yesterday. We spent 4 hours being shown the van and doing the paper work. We had to have them fix 2 catches and the heat coupling on the a hob ring that I noticed as we were shown around. The van is fitted with 2 lpg gas bottles but one was leaking so they are going are going to get 1 replaced and then fix it back in. They will pay for someone to do this locally or so they say. Why this was not sorted out in time defies me. Worse yet, the vans MPTLM is less than we we’re told. Put simply we will not be able to carry much. We would not have purchased this van on this plate. It should be a paper exercise to change it but it may delay our leave date as we have to have all the paper work with us when we go to France. The sales place promised to process ASAP but it will all depend on DVLA. Today we have been trying places to store stuff, the keyboard is nicely stored under the floor, the bike in the garage, but the clarinet and Oboe still sit at my feet, more due to exhaustion rather than not being able to find a home for them.Tomorrow is the start of the next and last phase of prep work, as we take Bertie home and make the final decisions on storage.
Anyway above is the first photo of me outside Bertie on a campsites.
