Belgium – Silly observations
(By Tracey- September 30, 2019)
Not many observations for Belgium as we haven’t spent that long in the country. As always these may not be accurate, just what I noticed.
- It was welcome to Belgium with a bumpity bump, almost like being back in Italy. We drove over that border line and you knew where the border is because the road became full of pot holes.
- Lots of the roads are concrete, so noisy and bumpy
- The first motorway we did had narrow lanes and potholes again like Italy.
- Ice-cream van, I’ve not heard one of these for ages.
- Fritteries (sausage and chips fast food places) are everywhere, middle of nowhere turn a corner and there was a fritterie.
- Red yellow street lights, that the uprights, a big square pole mark a zebra crossings.
- So far I have come across a few obnoxious Belgians. Luckily at the last site I met a nice Belgian.
- The sea front places all seemed to be lined with high-rise buildings
- A tram runs the whole length of the coast
- Begian waffles are rather nice
